About the Manga One Piece
Eiichiro Oda is the author and illustrator of the manga series “One Piece.” Since 22 July 1997, it has been serialized in Weekly Shnen Jump by Shueisha, and as of September 2021, it has been compiled in 96 tankbon volumes. The plot follows the exploits of Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy whose body becomes rubber-like after mistakenly consuming a Devil Fruit, and his varied band of pirates, the Straw Hat Pirates. Together, they seek the Grand Line for “One Piece,” the world’s greatest treasure, in order to become the Pirate King. The manga has been converted into an anime series, multiple feature films, and several video games, and has become one of the best-selling manga series ever.
One Piece is a manga series created by Eiichiro Oda. He is also responsible for the series’ artwork. Since July 22, 1997, the manga has been published in Shunisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It has been collected into 104 tankbon volumes as of November 2022. The protagonist of this story is Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy whose body develops the characteristics of rubber after mistakenly swallowing a Devil Fruit. The narrative chronicles Monkey D. Luffy’s escapades. Luffy, followed by his motley crew of pirates known as the Straw Hat Pirates, sails the Grand Line in search of the world’s greatest treasure, known as “One Piece,” in order to become the next Pirate King and reclaim his rightful position at the helm of the pirate world.
The manga was adapted into an original video animation (OVA) by Production I.G in 1998, and a Toei Animation-produced anime series began airing in Japan in 1999. These adaptations are both based on the original material. Toei has also produced thirteen feature-length films, one original video animation, and eleven television specials. Various companies have manufactured a vast array of goods, including trading card games and video games. Viz Media has been given the rights to publish the manga in North America and the United Kingdom in English, while Madman Entertainment has the rights to publish it in Australia. The anime had been licensed by 4Kids Entertainment for an English-language release in North America in 2004 until the license was canceled and subsequently acquired by Funimation in 2007. Nonetheless, this release never transpired.
One Piece has received praise for its story, artwork, characters, and even its humor. Some volumes of the manga have established new marks for publishing, becoming the Japanese publications with the highest first print runs. On the official website for the One Piece manga, it was reported that the series had broken the Guinness World Record for “most copies published for a single comic book series by a single creator.” The creator of the One Piece comic book series is Eiichiro Oda. As of May 2018, it was reported that over 440 million copies of the manga had been sold worldwide, making it the best-selling manga series of all time. Additionally, One Piece remained the best-selling manga series for the eighth consecutive year in 2017.
